A group of dedicated classic car enthusiasts braved poor weather conditions to raise £1,000 at an Easter fundraising event held on the Isle of Wight.
The event was organised following the cancellation of a planned Christmas collection in December 2025, with organisers instead opting to host a spring fundraiser.
Taking place on Saturday 4th April, the day began with grey skies and light drizzle, leading to a slow start and low footfall. Despite the conditions, 12 participants turned out with a variety of classic vehicles on display.
As the weather improved later in the morning, more people began to pass through the square, with donations gradually increasing. One notable contribution came from a member of the public who donated 2 large bags of 2p coins.
Collections continued until around 14:30, when colder conditions and a stiff breeze brought the event to a close.
A total of £384 was raised on the day, with additional contributions boosting the overall figure. Donations of £366 from club members, alongside a further £250 from club funds, have brought the grand total to £1,000.
The funds were presented to Mountbatten Isle of Wight earlier this week (Wednesday).

Well done to everyone involved. I do love the classic car
events, much better than speeding events.
