The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has responded to a chip pan fire in Cowes this evening (Friday) – the second such fire this week.
2 appliances from Newport and East Cowes were mobilised to Tennyson Road, Cowes at 16:58 following reports of a residential fire.
The first crew on scene smothered the fire and made the scene safe.
With the situation quickly brought under control retained firefighters from East Cowes were stood down en-route.
Earlier this week fire crews – from Newport, East Cowes and Cowes – responded to a chip pan fire in Newport.
Presumably the East Cowes crew had only got as far as the queue at Fairlee Road …
