The 0845 650 0097 number will change to 0300 300 0117 and will continue to be a 24 hour number.

0300 numbers are included in call packages and cost no more than 01 or 02 numbers. The existing 0845 number will run alongside the new 0300 number until it is deemed no longer necessary, but customers are encouraged to use the new number from now on.

The change has come from Hampshire County Council’s move to switching its 0845 numbers to 0300 numbers. The Isle of Wight Council’s children’s services are currently run in partnership with Hampshire.

If you are concerned that a child might be being abused and would like to talk to someone or ask someone to find out what is going on, you should call 0300 300 0117 from 2nd February, or 0845 650 0097 before then.

For all emergencies you should call 999.
