Fisherman have discovered a deceased cat wrapped in a black bag and weighted down with stones on the River Medina this morning (Wednesday).
The animal was fished out of the water near to The Folly Inn, Whippingham shortly before 10:30. The bag floated past a boat.
Upon opening the black bag, it was discovered that the animal had been wrapped in several bags and a towel. Shockingly, the bag had also been weighted down with a number of large stones.
The circumstances of the death of the black cat with white paws is unclear.
The relevant authorities have been informed of the discovery.

If you really need to part with a sick or unwanted pet, it’s very simple and free – just contact a charity that can do so humanely, such as http://www.rspca.org.uk, http://www.cats.org.uk , http://www.bluecross.org.uk , or http://www.adch.org.uk .
If your pet is sick and you can’t afford a vet, any of those charities will help.
But to wilfully drown a kitten is utterly despicable – the scum who did this deserves nothing less.

It’s a screwed up world I’m afraid. Gungadins example of attempted humour is a prime example. I’m a firm believer of what goes around comes around. Nobody deserves what happened even a cat . Perhaps the cat had died and the owner couldn’t afford to involve a decent burial – who knows. Humans can be the cruelest of living things in the world.
If caught, the owner should suffer the same fate.

I agree, yet they are always put first, The law puts them first, every time. When I was a child and heard that in a fire, no one is allowed to go in to rescue a dog or pet inside, or if you are instructed to leave a building because of fire, you’re not allowed to bring anything out with you, even a pet. That so upset me as I couldn’t believe the law could be so cruel. Maybe it’s different today, but that was one of the things that stayed with me hearing about in childhood that deeply troubled and upset me.
If you can’t stand animal cruelty and if you don’t want to support it.. GO VEGAN….
