UPDATED: Emergency services including the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a road traffic collision on Brading Downs this lunchtime (Wednesday), where a car has rolled onto its roof.
Firefighters from Ryde, Police and Ambulance crews are all in attendance at the scene having been alerted to the incident at around 12:15.
The road has been closed in both directions at Bulley’s Hill and at Ashey Road. Motorists are being diverted locally.
UPDATE @ 13:10 – A red classic Mini and a silver Lexus have been involved in the collision at a corner known locally as ‘Kern’.
The Mini, which was travelling towards Newport, is thought to have clipped a bank before rolling onto its side and colliding with the front of a Lexus travelling in the opposite direction.
No one has been seriously injured in the incident, with injuries being described as ‘slight’.
The two vehicles are being recovered by Stag Lane Motors.
Although emergency services have now stood down from the incident, the road remains closed in both directions whilst Island Roads clear a fuel spillage from the carriageway.
