Fears that a car was about to burst into flames prompted a call out for Newport firefighters earlier this morning (Thursday).
1 appliance was mobilised to the southbound carriageway of Medina Way at 08:55 when what was thought to be smoke started to rise from a silver Peugeot.
Once on scene, it was established that the car wasn’t on fire but had infact overheated.
The vehicle, which was stationary in traffic that has backed up as a result of the Fairlee Road closure, has now been pushed off the dual carriageway and onto the sliproad.
Typical Peugeot rubbish. The French cars equivalent of the white flag of surrender.
It goes with gridlocks, stop building houses.
