UPDATED: Emergency services are responding to a single vehicle road traffic collision on Blacklands Lane near Newport this morning (Monday).
A car has left the carriageway and come to rest about 15m off the road, however no one is believed to be trapped.
The incident has happened between Briddlesford Road and Staplers Road.
The road currently remains open in both directions.
UPDATE @ 08:35 – The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are now on scene and are attending to 1 casualty.
The vehicle, a Vauxhall Corsa, has been severely damaged in the crash and has come to rest in amongst the trees. It remains unclear what’s caused the vehicle to leave the road.
UPDATE @ 09:10 – 1 male is being conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries.
It is understood the driver lost control of the vehicle before rolling into the trees.
The car is to remain in situ but has been marked by Police.
