UPDATED: Emergency services have this afternoon (Saturday) attended a road traffic collision at Tollgate Road, Seaview.
One vehicle has landed upside down in the crash, which occurred at around 14:30.
Island Echo understand the VW Polo hit a kerb and a large rock before rolling onto its roof. No other vehicles were involved.
Two occupants, both believed to be male, were inside the small hatchback at the time of the incident, which happened between Puckpool and Seaview.
It is understood the driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene for drink driving.
Eye witness reports have suggested the two occupants were released from their seat belts and assisted out of the car by members of the public before emergency services arrived on the scene.
UPDATE MONDAY: Police have today confirmed that 59-year-old Gary Lloyd of Seaview was arrested following the incident on Saturday and has been charged with drink-driving. He will appear in court on 1st October.
