A car has collided head on with a traffic light at one of the busiest junctions on the Island this evening (Friday).
Police are in attendance at the incident at Westridge Cross in Ryde, where an entire permanent traffic light column has been flattened by a Ford Fiesta.
No one has been seriously injured in the incident, which occurred at around 19:15.
Traffic is heavy in the area and 4-way temporary traffic lights are expected to be put in place.
Motorists should anticipate significant delays over the weekend.
