UPDATED: Firefighters are tackling a car fire in Carisbrooke this afternoon (Sunday).
1 appliance from Newport Fire Station is on scene at School Lane.
Crews are using breathing apparatus and hose reels to bring the blaze under control. They were called to the incident shortly before 15:00.
School Lane is currently blocked whilst the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service deal with the fire.
UPDATE – The fire service have now stood down and returned to station having successfully extinguished the fire.
A Citroen C4 Picasso has been completely destroyed.
The cause is currently unknown.
