A car has collided with two parked vehicles and a wall in Ryde this morning (Monday), prompting a response from emergency services.
A red Nissan Qashqai has smashed into two parked cars – a grey Nissan Qashqai and a grey Hyundai i10 – near to St James’ Church on Lind Street in the town, causing significant damage to all 3 vehicles. It is thought the 4×4 clipped a stone wall at the junction of Lind Street and West Street also.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to scene shortly before 10:00 with firefighters assisting with scene safety.
The elderly male driver of the Nissan has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital and is said to be shaken by the incident, however he has escaped any serious injury. One other person has also been conveyed.
The road has been closed and traffic is being diverted locally.
