Police are appealing for witnesses after a hit and run crash on The Downs over the weekend (Sunday).
Police were called to the scene on the The Downs Road – near Rowlands Lane – at around 16:30 after receiving reports of a crash between a Suzuki, carrying parents and a young child, and a black Audi.
However following the crash, the driver of the Audi made off without stopping to exchange their details.
Island Echo understands that the last 3 digits of the Audi’s registration were SUD.
A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson has said:
“Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information, in particular the driver of the Audi, should contact 101, quoting, 44240445636.”

And what will happen to them IF they get cought…NOTHING..
From what I am reading on a regular basis, many
Audi drivers are bad news.
Islandwide Camera’s are the way forward.
I would imagine that by checking through the DVLA records they could give a clue to see how many of these vehicles are on the island. The police are very good at this sort of thing. The driver is nothing short of a total scumbag and should be locked up and banned from driving and have his/her car crushed.
Audi? Pretty obvious why it didn’t stop.
