Police have rushed to a single vehicle collision which has seen a Peugeot collide with a shopfront in Newport this afternoon (Friday).
The incident has occurred on Upper St James’ Street and has seen a 25-plate Peugeot crash into a shopfront opposite Londis.
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, who were first called at around 16:30, are currently on scene.
It is unclear at this time as to how the incident occurred.
Maybe someone can’t drive? Or a medical episode? Either way that could have been more than a car ending up in a shop front. if someone was walking by?
It is very worrying thesedays on island roads.
I was walking along Shanklin seafront with the
grandchildren this evening and there were vehicles
speeding along the esplanade.
The speed humps along the esplanade are too
far apart, hence they do not stop speeding motorists,
motorcycles ride between the gaps of the humps
so they are not effective
So much more needs to be done to make our roads
safe for everyone.
Can’t drive definitely, hopefully the police took a breathalyser? Anyone who drives like that should not be driving? How you ended up in a shop front is unbelievable? Need to be done for dangerous driving?
