UPDATED: Emergency services are attending a road traffic collision involving a car and a lorry on Staplers Road, Newport this afternoon (Wednesday).
Police and ambulance crews are in attendance at the scene, where a Peugeot 206 is reported to have collided into the rear of a Reynolds and Read lorry.
The incident happened just after 13:00
The road has been closed by Police. Traffic is being diverted via Pan.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 14:10 – One woman has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries following this lunchtime’s incident.
Staplers Road has now reopened in both directions, however traffic remains at a standstill with the closure of Fairlee Road (northbound) for the Isle of Wight Festival.
In Chale, a motorcyclist has received serious injuries following a road traffic incident at Appleford Road, junction with Beacon Alley. The incident has since been cleared and the motorcyclist conveyed to hospital.
