A number of cannabis plants were seized when Police descended on a Newport property in the search for a wanted man yesterday morning (Tuesday).
Police attended an address on Angelica Grove in Newport at around 09:30.
Officers were searching for a male wanted in connection with a domestic incident at Princelett Shute near Apse Heath last Friday, which saw Police and ambulance crews attend at around 19:30.
A 34-year-old man from the Isle of Wight was arrested at the property and the cannabis plants – a Class B drug – seized.
The unnamed man remains in Police custody.
UPDATE @ 11:00 – 34-year-old Neil Craven, of Angelica Grove, has been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, breaching bail and assault by beating.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before the Magistrates’ Court.
Obviously not the sharpest tool in the box 🙂
Considering the charges didn’t include cultivation, I think it’s obvious it wasn’t the same guy.
