3 people have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing after a large amount of cannabis was found in a car in Sandown yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
It was just gone 16:00 that officers stopped a vehicle on Avenue Road, and carried out a search under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Officers seized a large quantity of cannabis during the search.
Island Echo understands that attentions were then drawn to a nearby property, with officers making enquiries at an address as part of the investigation.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that a 33-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
A third person – an 18-year-old man – was later arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
All 3 remain in custody at this time.
UPDATE FRIDAY – The 3 suspects have been bailed until 27th November.
