CALF STUCK IN RIVER AT BRADING

cowbradingUPDATED: Firefighters are this morning (Monday) attending an area close to Lower Furrlongs in Brading where a calf is reported to be stuck in a river.

One appliance from Newport, one from Sandown and the Animal Rescue Unit from Newport are all responding to the incident alongside a 4×4 from Ryde.

UPDATE @ 10:05 – Fire crews are currently working to locate the calf on Brading Marshes.

imageThe search has relocated to Quay Lane.

UPDATE @ 10:50 – The calf has been located safe and well on the marshes this morning.

Rescue teams have been stood down from the incident and have returned to station.

An RSPCA welfare officer was called to the scene.
