Up to 60 homes have been left without water this morning after a water main burst on the outskirts of Ryde.
Engineers from Southern Water are working to repair the 10-inch pipe, which burst at 06:00 his morning, effecting water supplies to Ashey Road, Rosemary Lane and surrounding areas.
It is expected that running water will return to those properties effected later today (Saturday). Meanwhile, bottled water has been placed at the junction of Bettsworth Road and Ashey Road.
A spokesperson for Southern Water has this morning said:
“We’d like to apologise to all those affected. We’re doing all we can to restore supplies as quickly as possible.”
Today’s problem comes after a series of burst water mains in the Haylands and Ashey area over the past 12-18 months.
