Firefighters from Sandown and Shanklin are this morning (Sunday) attending a property in Sandown after burnt toast sparked an emergency response.
Two appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to a flat in Leed Street in the town at just before 09:35 following the activation of a fire alarm.
Upon arrival at the scene, crews discovered that burnt toast had set the alarm off in the home of an elderly woman.
The property is being ventilated by firefighters.
