The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service successfully tackled an out building fire in Calbourne overnight.
Appliances from Newport and Freshwater were mobilised to reports of a small blaze off Elm Lane during the early hours of this morning (Sunday). It was initially feared that a barn was ablaze, but it was soon discovered to be a garage.
The fire also resulted in the turn out of Freshwater’s water carrier and the Incident Support Unit from East Cowes.
Firefighters spent around 2 hours on scene bringing the situation under control and damping down the affected area.
It is currently unknown what caused the fire to ignite.
