A branch chair and secretary are urgently being sought to support people on the Isle of Wight living with Motor Neurone Disease.
Can you give the gift of time and are passionate about your local community?
The Motor Neurone Disease Association charity urgently needs to recruit a branch chair and a secretary to ensure the committee gets the support they need to provide emotional and practical support to people living with Motor Neurone Disease. This will include meetings every other month and acting as a point of contact for donors and fundraising events.
The time required is flexible and can fit around other commitments. There is no previous experience or knowledge needed as extensive training and ongoing support will be given. The role is unpaid but reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
It comes following the retirement of volunteer Jennie Lewis, as previously reported by Island Echo.
MND is a neurological condition that affects the way a person moves their muscles. It is often rapidly progressing and impacts a person’s ability to speak, eat and drink, and breathe.
