An 11-year-old boy has escaped serious injury after being hit by a car in Cowes during the morning school run today (Thursday).
The incident happened on Park Road, close to Cowes Primary School, at around 08:30.
Emergency services responded to the scene at 08:45 and paramedics soon took the youngster, who was riding a bicycle at the time of the incident, to St Mary’s Hospital.
Thankfully, the boy has not suffered any serious injuries and is now back at home.
Staff at Cowes Primary have thanked those that stopped at the scene of the collision and have reassured parents and students that the boy will be ok.
