B&M, one of the nation’s favourite variety retailers, looks set to open on the Isle of Wight.
There are over 560 stores across the country and new ones opening every week. That number is set to expand further with the proposed opening of the chain’s first store on the Island – although the location remains a secret.
B&M offers customers a wide range of products including food, homeware, fast-moving consumer goods, DIY, furniture, garden, pet care and more.
Potential locations for the new store could include the empty BHS or HMV units in Newport High Street, or possibly the proposed retail development opposite ASDA on St George’s Way, Newport. The likely suspect is the former PC World store at Wakes Retail Park, also in Newport.
In recent years Islanders have been treated to more and more national retailers making the hop across the Solent including Home Bargains, The Range, ASDA, Mattressman and Aldi.
Recruitment is now underway for roles including Store Manager and Sales Assistant.
Island Echo has approached B&M for a statement.
