Blackgang Chine is celebrating after scooping 3 awards at this year’s UK Theme Park Awards, recognising excellence across the visitor attractions industry.
The Isle of Wight attraction, which is also the UK’s oldest amusement park, took home Gold for Best Customer Service (Small), Silver for Best Seaside Park (South), and Bronze for Best Marketing Campaign with its viral “Talking Bins with Joe Sugg” initiative.
With tens of thousands of votes from the public alongside judging by an expert panel, competition at this year’s awards was tougher than ever.
The Gold win for Best Customer Service reflects the park’s focus on creating memorable experiences for every guest.
Dan White, Park Manager, has said:
“Customer service is at the heart of everything we do.
“To be recognised nationally is a huge testament to the passion, energy and commitment of our incredible team.”
This accolade follows the park’s recent VisitEngland assessment, which saw Blackgang Chine achieve a 98% score for Customer Service. Nearby Paultons Park also claimed Gold for Customer Service in the Large Park category.
The Silver award for Best Seaside Park highlighted the attraction’s unique clifftop setting, offering some of the most striking coastal views on the Isle of Wight.
Meanwhile, the Bronze award for Best Marketing Campaign underlined the impact of the “Talking Bins with Joe Sugg” project. Beginning with a simple idea and no budget, the lighthearted campaign went viral and captured national attention.
Laura Baxter, Head of Marketing, has said:
“This campaign really is the embodiment of what Blackgang Chine is about, creating those core childhood memories that transcend generations, and Joe’s story with his niece and homemade bin captured everyone’s hearts.
“We’re incredibly proud to showcase that independent attractions can compete at the very highest level.”

Well done.
Blackgang Chine is by far the best attraction
on the island and one of the best in the country.
