Concerned Island Echo readers alerted Police just before 17:00 yesterday evening (Monday) that a motorcyclist was laying injured on the road. Officers from Hampshire Constabulary were deployed to St Mary’s Roundabout at the top of the dual carriageway to investigate further.
Police are now seeking the driver of a vehicle that is believed to have hit the motorcyclist and drove away from the scene.
PC Jason Taylor has said:
“I am seeking any witnesses who may have information, or indeed the driver of the other vehicle. The information we have is that the other vehicle involved was a small silver car, similar in size — but not specifically this type of vehicle — to a Citroen C1 or a Toyota Yaris.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Taylor at Shanklin Police Station on 101.
