Bembridge RNLI launched to assist a 31ft French yacht off the coast of the Isle of Wight during the early hours of this morning (Friday).
The volunteer lifeboat crew launched the All Weather Lifeboat at 03:40 at the request of Solent Coastguard to aid ‘Anita’, a 31ft yacht with 3 crew onboard that had broken down and also had steering problems about 2.5 miles South East of the Nab Tower.
‘Anita’ was located at around 04:05 and having decided that it was not possible to effect a temporary repair, she was towed to Portsmouth where she was berthed by 06:25.
The Alfred Albert Williams (16-17) returned to Bembridge and was rehoused just after 07:00.
