With just 4 weeks to go until Sandown’s inaugural Fairweather Festival, organisers have made a surprise act announcement – pioneer of the bassline scene, Bassboy, will be performing on the Cabin in the Woods stage.
Birmingham’s best kept secret has produced some of the biggest tracks in bassline history and has worked with a whole host of vocal talent including one of the UK’s best homegrown grime talent, Skepta.
Recently Bassboy’s been trying his hand at some 4×4 garage and the results are truly phenomenal, especially his edits of R&B gems. His heavy basslines and ear for infectious, off-kilter drum grooves have seen him frequently featured on top line-ups and he is now a regular feature for the Boy Better Know collective.
Callum Fairweather, Promoter of the 2nd September event has said:
“I’m super excited for this! The Isle of Wight has one of the best upcoming bassline and garage scenes in the UK so what better way to give our young talent a step up on the ladder than giving them the opportunity to support Bassboy, one of the biggest stars in the genre today.
“The Cabin In The Woods stage will go absolutely crazy for this I’m sure – and I’m very adament not to clash his performance with FooR, who I know are also crowd favourites of a similar genre… Roll on 4 weeks time!”
A limited amount of tickets are still available online at just £25 per adult, £20 for students and £15 for children. Any remaining tickets will be subject to a price increase for those wanting to buy on the day, so don’t miss out!
