The internationally acclaimed Josh Meader Trio is set to perform a headline show at Strings Bar & Venue in Newport on Thursday (25th September) as part of this year’s Isle of Wight Jazz Weekend.
Hailing from Australia, the trio is led by guitarist and composer Josh Meader, known for his virtuosic playing and fresh approach to modern jazz. Their appearance will bring a night of dynamic, contemporary music to the heart of Newport, with a set of original compositions showcasing inventive improvisation and world-class musicianship.
The group also features National Jazz Award winners Alex Hirlian on drums and Matt Thomson on keys. Their music blends odd-time signatures, sampling, improvisation and textural soundscapes, drawing from a wide spectrum of influences.
