A man arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder his own wife at their home in Binstead remains in hospital some 3-and-a-half months after the alleged incident.
Detectives are continuing to investigate a man in his 50s on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed his wife in the neck and killed the family dog, as previously revealed by Island Echo.
It was on 20th June this year that Armed Police descended on the usually quiet Newnham Road following reports of a serious assault. A woman was seen to be bleeding profusely, with armed response officers calling for a male inside the address to put down a weapon and open the front door.
The road was sealed off as Police isolated the threat and made the scene safe.
The prime suspect was tended to by paramedics before being placed in a neck brace and wheeled out of the property and into an awaiting ambulance.

Forensic investigators spent the next 4 days examining the bloody crime scene.
Now, some 15 weeks after his arrest, the unnamed individual remains in hospital, it has been confirmed to Island Echo. However, Hampshire Constabulary has refused to comment on whether the suspect has been under a 24-hour bedside guard all that time.
Once released from the hospital, the suspect will be quizzed and the custody clock will begin – with Police looking to charge the male with the attempted murder of his wife.

So that is what is meant by ‘Bed Blocking ?
Milking that one then someone who needs that bed could have it . They have hospital beds in prison as well
Why should he be in prison??
Minus 4?? Judge and jury?? He hasn’t been found guilty yet. Best move to Russia with that attitude.
Sure he’s just misunderstood tony
I hope the murder of his dog is also taken into account when he his questioned and hopefully charged!
Sadly if he owned the dog it will not even be an offence. If he didn’t it’s simply criminal damage. So sad, but true
one wonders if he is putting on an act to stop being quizzed and charged
See 3 months in hospital and it’s our fault they have no beds
I am sure he could be treated in any prison hospital facility.
I believe they still have a prison hospital at Parkhurst prison.
Think max you can get is 5yrs for crimes against animals…
