A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including driving whilst disqualified and drug driving, following a crash in East Cowes last night (Wednesday). At 22:15, Police received a report of a collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a parked BMW on Beatrice Avenue in the town. Officers attended and the driver of the Astra became verbally abusive and damaged a Police radio. The driver, a 46-year-old from Cowes, was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly, drug driving, driving while disqualified, criminal damage and obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of their duty. He remains in custody at this time.
