Police arrested a man in his 20s and seized a knife after an argument sparked concern on a residential street in Ryde last night (Tuesday). Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was called at just before 21:00 to reports of the sound of arguing coming from an address on Surrey Street, off St John’s Road. Officers responded to the property and arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and criminal damage. He was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, with Police seizing a large kitchen knife as evidence. The 27-year-old currently remains in custody at Newport Police Station.
