Face-to-face fundraisers help the RNLI reach thousands of people every year, sharing important water safety messages with beachgoers and visitors to some of the summer’s most popular events. It’s also vital in helping the RNLI continue its lifesaving service, encouraging new supporters to sign up to make a donation.
The charity’s face-to-face fundraising team is looking for people to join our lifesaving team on the Isle of Wight. Fundraisers receive full, high-quality training and competitive rates of pay, whilst also developing valuable professional and personal skills.
This year, the lifesaving charity is looking to recruit around 200 face-to-face fundraisers across the UK, with part-time, full-time, seasonal and year-round opportunities available.

I wonder what sort of training will be offered to fund raisers when they are challenged by members of the public who are upset by the role the RNLI is taking regarding the cross Channel illegal migrants, actions which unfortunately give the impression of making life easier for the people smugglers.
Some might say that the dedicated and extremely brave volunteers of the RNLI are being exploited by the highly paid individuals at Head Office? The salary of the Chief Executive is a staggering £175,00, how in heavens name can that be justified? To think that equates to 175,000 donations of £1 being dropped in the model lifeboat collecting boxes on the counters of local shops. Quite a sobering, or disturbing thought me thinks, as are looking at pictures of the huge Poole headquarters.
I cancelled my direct debit to the RNLI a while back and any future donations will go to supporting the independent lifeboat stations.
I have been saying the same as you for many years. The incredibly brave people that volunteer to crew these lifeboats really deserve to be paid something inline with the dangerous job they have and also the skills that they have to help save lives. For myself, I think that the salary of the Chief Exec is an over payment of £1k or if you prefer, £1,000.00 or once again one thousand pounds too much. Save that and split it up in equal amounts between the brave men and women at the sharp end.
