The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in the rural village of Brighstone in response to a medical emergency this afternoon (Thursday).
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have been joined by the flying doctors near to the Dragon Tree – a local point of interest.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are also in attendance with 1 appliance from Newport on scene. It is understood the wholetime crew responded to the incident at just gone 14:00.
The distinctive green and yellow helicopter has landed in the entranceway to a construction site off New Road, close to the scene of the incident. A local footpath is being used for access.
UPDATE @ 14:40 – A 19-year-old girl is being conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance after falling out of a tree.
Firefighters were called in to help move the teenager across a stream.
With the woman’s injuries not deemed life-threatening, the air ambulance has now taken off and is returning to base at Thruxton near Andover.
