UPDATED: AIR AMBULANCE SCRAMBLED TO MORNING EMERGENCY IN BRIGHSTONE

Medics from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance have joined local ambulance crews in responding to a medical emergency in the rural village of Brighstone this morning (Wednesday). The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service mobilised 2 ambulance crews, a rapid response paramedic and an operational commander to an address on Galley Lane at just before 07:50. Having taken off from Andover, the yellow and green air ambulance helicopter descended through the fog to land off Grange Road at around 08:10. UPDATE @ 09:05 – The air ambulance has now lifted off from Brighstone without conveying the patient at the centre of this morning’s alert. They are now responding to another emergency call in Romsey, Hampshire. The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is standing down from the incident also.
