The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed near Apse Heath this afternoon (Thursday) in response to a life-threatening medical emergency at the Honor & Jeffrey Garden Center.
An ambulance, critical care paramedic, rapid response paramedic and operational commander from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are all on scene, supported by firefighters from Shanklin.
The call to 999 was made shortly before 13:50.
Given the severity of the situation, flying air ambulance medics have landed near to the popular retail outlet having been scrambled from their Thruxton base at around 14:00.

UPDATE @ 15:55 – The air ambulance has taken off and has headed back to the mainland. All emergency service personnel present have since stood down.
