The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) landed on a green space in Cowes this lunchtime (Sunday) following a medical emergency in the North Wight.
Flying doctors were requested at around 12:00 this morning and were first seen in the blustery skies above the Island at around 12:15.
The pilot showed impressive skill to land the helicopter in what can only be described as very testing conditions.
On the ground a single ambulance and critical care paramedic met the helicopter at the Isle of Wight Community Club, where the casualty was lifted into the air ambulance.
Having lifted off, HIOWAA has conveyed the patient to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
The Air Ambulance yet again provides an excellent
service in all extreme weather conditions.
These guys need Knighthoods for their services.
