AIR AMBULANCE IN MIDNIGHT DASH TO SHORWELL

Flying medics from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance have been in Shorwell this morning (Saturday) in response to a medical emergency. The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service initially mobilised 2 ambulance crews to an address off Limerstone Road – between Shorwell and Brighstone – shortly before midnight. As a result of the information provided by the 999 caller, the air ambulance scrambled from its base at Thruxton to assist with the emergency response. Now, after an hour on the ground, the air ambulance has lifted from the West Wight village and has returned to base, without conveying the patient.
