Adverse weather conditions on the Solent have led to the suspension of Hovertravel’s Ryde-Southsea service this morning (Saturday). The cross-Solent operator – which is running a 1 craft only service in November – has confirmed that the weather is impacting on its ability to operate safely. Tickets are now being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service from Ryde Pier Head to Portsmouth Harbour. An update is expected by 08:45, but it is unknown if services are likely to resume at that time. A yellow weather warning is in force for the Isle of Wight with wet and windy weather expected throughout the day.
