A popular footpath in Bonchurch has been closed by the Isle of Wight Council following the discovery of ‘active land movement’.
Footpath V65a through will remain closed until the surface adjusts and settles, allowing work to begin to reconstruct it following the landslip.
Walkers and residents are warned by the Council that this could take time, however.
Footpath V65a runs along the coast a short distance from Leeson Road. Neighbouring paths connecting with Bonchurch Shute will remain open.

Walkers and residents are warned by the Council that this could take time, however…Hopefully Shanklin’s steps will be repaired first only been closed for 6 months plus and just re advertised may be another 6 months if lucky.
The council say it could take some time in other words it will never open again if there track record is anything to go by
