IW Met Service have issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds tomorrow (Saturday) with gusts of up to 70mph expected on the Isle of Wight.
A spell of severe gale force southwesterly winds will develop throughout Saturday morning and continue until the late afternoon.
Wind gusts of up to 70mph are expected in more exposed locations along western and southern coasts as well as over the hills. Wind gusts of up to 60mph can be expected in other parts of the island.
There will be large amounts of leaves and twigs on the roads but also the possibility of some larger branches and perhaps even one or two older, weaker trees being uprooted.
Travel and transport disruptions are likely with the highest impact being to cross Solent travel.
The warning is in force from 06:00 until 20:00 on Saturday 2nd November.
