63 RIDERS COMPETE IN WIGHTLINK WARRIORS WINTER WARMER AT SMALLBROOK

Chad Wirtzfeld Warriors Winter - Sportography - 161223-09820The Wightlink Warriors Winter Warmer track spectacular saw 63 riders ignore the drizzle and produce 40 heats of close-quarter racing on Saturday (16th December).

With speedway, flat track and grass track (GT140) represented, the meeting had something for everyone and produced a super exhibition of machinery handling skills and great racing warmly appreciated by both local fans and some who had travelled from Peterborough, Plymouth and the Midlands to enjoy some out-of-season action.

Some races had 12 riders on track at one time whilst other heats pitted conventional petrol power against the latest electric bike technology.

The main finals that rounded off the meeting were races of great quality, skill and determination from all competitors and drew a positive response from Wightlink Warriors co-owner Barry Bishop, who said:

“What an excellent training meeting ridden under true race conditions. I have to admit to a bit of concern as the light rain in the air lingered around the stadium. However, not one rider complained about conditions; they just rolled their sleeves up and got on with their racing in a terrific spirit of cooperation and, at the end of the meeting, I was delighted to receive many compliments which makes me think we should try this again fairly soon.”

Ban it, noisy, pollution from exhausts, and powerful lighting, dangerous so costly to the NHS, and bad as encourages other fools to ride like such on public highways or illegally in the countryside.

So, you want to ban ALL motorsport.
How about Athletics? Encouraging people to run through the streets and shops, knocking people out of the way, throwing hammers and javelins around at will.

It was great to have something interesting to go and see at a time of year when there is usually very little to do on the island. The price was fantastic, as were the quarter pounder with bacon, cheese and onions burgers! The weather wasn’t too bad and the new Stark electric motocross bikes were very interesting. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
