The rider of a motorcycle has sustained minor injuries on Fairlee Road in Newport this afternoon (Friday).
It was initially feared the female scooterist had been involved in a collision with a car near the junction with Halberry Lane. However, witnesses explained to Police that the woman simply fell from her scooter whilst negotiating traffic.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to the scene to check over the casualty, a 54-year-old woman. She has sustained injuries to her arm.
Traffic was heavy in the area for a time but has now returned to normal levels.
Police have moved the scooter to a nearby car park.
