Temperatures could plummet to -3c overnight prompting the deployment of gritters for the second night running.
Forecasters at IW Met Service say that 0c to -2c can be expected widely with a few central and southern parts of the Island seeing -3c. It is expected to be above freezing on windward coasts in the north, such as Ryde.
Island Roads has confirmed that gritters will be deployed from 21:00 tonight with all the usual routes and bridge decks at Stag Lane and Foxes Road, Newport treated.
As always, motorists are urged to drive according to the road conditions – especially first thing tomorrow morning.
