Temperatures rose to a whopping 33c on the Island yesterday, with yet another hot day in store for us today (Saturday).
According to local weather forecasters IW Met Service, the highest temperature seen locally was 33c recorded in Cowes at 13:30 yesterday afternoon.
The variation across the Island was as much as 9c, with coastal resorts such as Shanklin and Sandown in the East seeing a cooler 24c.
Islanders will have experienced a muggy night with 23.4c recorded in Shanklin at just before midnight.
Today will see some high, thin cloud at times during the first half of the day, causing the sun to become hazy. As we go through into the afternoon there is a small risk of the odd scattered shower developing here and there. This risk will increase as we go into this evening, with maybe the odd rumble of thunder becoming possible.
Temperatures are expected to be 29-31c with some places reaching 33c, along with a light to moderate N to NNE breeze, becoming light variable.
Just IMAGINE what the beaches, the parking and the traffic will be like when Pennyfeathers and Bullen and Ashey and all in between are fully occupied.
One can be certain that the planners, developers etc, will NOT be sat alongside the tattooed, chavs, with clones swarming like ants, and breathing in their dope and alcohol infused belching. Listening to their foul language over the backdrop of some equally foul crude rap ‘music’.
Nor will ‘they’ be sat in the discarded bbq grease and shattered bottle sherds from the evening crew left on the beach.
They will be spending their ill gotten in some remote beautiful isle in the Med. Hence THEY don’t care, as I would not, IF I were them.
They don’t have any ‘love’ for the Island it is just a ‘piggy bank’ for them to earn an easy million or more, then move on. Whereas we are stuck with the misery they leave, not for a while, but, for the rest of eternity.

Some prefer the ignore the facts and truth, and live in a dim happy bubble.
That complacency or apathy is WHY planners, and developers get away with ruining lives of the many just to feather their own nest.
