Residents and staff at Orchard House care home in Newport are getting ready to cheer on the home sides throughout the World Cup with the home decked out with flags.
Residents can’t wait to enjoy the action over the next few weeks. Everyone is so excited to see how Gareth’s boys get on!
Fans of the beautiful game at Orchard House are delighted to be able to watch this year’s fixtures. Residents and staff are getting together to watch the matches and celebrate with a favourite tipple and footie-inspired bar snacks whipped up by head chef Claire.
Kim Fleming, General Manager at the home, said:
“We’re really excited to watch the World Cup. We’re hoping to watch pretty much all the matches: lots of our residents are footie fans. It will be fantastic to be able to cheer on the home sides and especially England! Let’s hope they can do as well as the Lionesses!”
Resident, Eve, commented:
“It feels like a bonus tournament to be watching the World Cup in November! It is wonderful to be able to watch the matches here with all my friends cheering on our boys. You never know, it might just be coming home!”
