3 people have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent following an assault in Sandown during the early hours of this morning (Friday).
Police were called to the High Street at 00:12 this morning to reports of a man being assaulted by 3 people.
On arrival, officers located a 33-year-old man with cuts to his head.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to the scene and conveyed the casualty to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment to his injuries.
A 30-year-old man from Lake, a 30-year-old man from Ryde and a 30-year-old Sandown have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
They remain in custody at this time.
