A crash involving 2 vehicles has occurred on West Street in Ryde this afternoon.
The 2 cars involved are a Ford Fiesta and a VW Golf with the former having sustained damage on the front right of the car.
3 units from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are in attendance at the scene outside Ryde cemetery but the road remains open.
It is understood that no serious injuries have been sustained.
UPDATE @ 17:43 – 2 of the 3 Police units have now left the scene with the vehicles awaiting recovery.

Why 3 units to sort out a minor ding ?
Need that many to do all the drug and alcohol testing.
Most probably need 3 units ro change a light bulb
Its about time the Island enforced 20mph zones on the Island
to reduce the amount of crashes that take place on a daily basis.
And who is going to enforce it?. Drive through Brading at 20 and suddenly there is a massive queue behind ….
20 is plenty, safety is imperative
Have you tried driving around London?
Have you tried driving/crawling along the road into Kingston being passed by loony lyrcra people?
20 is great outside schools and hospitals and old folks homes, but wait and see the repercussions in Wales first. On manual cars, that means 2nd gear most likely…additional revs/noise/petrol usage?
This really hasn’t been all thought out, but of course is easy in an electric car.
I think we can see where this is all heading.
20 is plenty, safety is imperative.
Half the vehicles on the Island are not ULEZ COMPLIANT
What if Khan extended his charge to the Island
Pollution kills whereever you are.
What’s the point? A four-year study commissioned by the Government in 2018 found that 20mph zones had failed to make roads safer. Another study published in November last year also found they had “little impact” on crashes, casualties and driver speed.
Take a visit to Godshill High Street and Brading High Street
both streets are disasters waiting to happen.
Road Safety on the Island is Poor.
Speed Camera’s and traffic calming is a must in certain locations.
Speeding kills, prevention is better than cure.
