2 young males are being sought by Police after crashing a Nissan Micra in Blackwater on the outskirts of Newport – and then fleeing the scene.
Police are in attendance at Blackwater Hollow where a Nissan Micra has been involved in a collision with a Hyundai i20 this evening (Monday).
Island Echo understands the Micra was travelling away from Rookley when the driver lost control of a right hand bend, smashing into a young female driver – who only recently passed her test – travelling in the opposite direction.
Both the driver and passenger of the Micra immediately fled the scene on foot.
The incident occurred at the junction of Sandy Lane shortly before 18:50.
Police have deployed a local dog unit in a bid to track down the suspects, who are now wanted for failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
Blackwater Hollow remains open in both directions as Police await recovering of both vehicles.

You are a very sad old lady. You only comment on the posts that are about misfortune, never on posts that are positive. I think maybe you should reflect on your own life and stop trying to appear superior over those who make mistakes and have been caught, as I am sure someone like you has many skeletons in their closet that may be far worse than those caught for drink driving, drug driving and speeding. You display the characteristics of a person who thinks they are educated and moralistic when deep down they are anything but, pointing their judgemental finger at someone else in order to feel better about themselves, whilst projecting to the world how rightous they are.
