A 2-vehicle crash outside of a garden centre is blocking one of the main routes out of Newport this afternoon (Saturday).
Police, fire and ambulance crews were first called to Forest Road, just outside Forest View Nursery at around 15:45 following reports of a 2-vehicle crash.
At the scene, Citroen van and a Kia have collided resulting the works vehicle being shunted from the road. It is unclear at this stage as to just how the accident occurred.
Firefighters from Newport are on scene making sure the heavily damaged vehicles are safe, whilst the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has a single ambulance present, checking over those involved.
Forest Road is currently blocked between its junctions with Medina away and Gunville Road.
More follows.
More Isle of Wight driving, may I suggest
Numpty’s involved in such incidents take a
re-test before they are allowed to drive again.
Cars carefully drive out BUT when will those on the main road stop using forest road as a race track
or Beachfield Road etc etc
It really is pathetic how no one can drive properly..every few weeks there is a crash there..soon someone is going to die.
I blame the authorities for letting it happen
THEY KNOW SPEEDING IS RIFE AND CHOOSE TO
DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!
They could place speed humps and speed Camera’s etc
