UPDATED: A 2-car collision has resulted in the closure of West Lane in Brading this morning (Thursday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are on scene with 2 appliances from Ryde, alongside Police and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
The alarm was raised at just before 08:25, but the initial caller described the crash as being on Ashey Road near Brading.
A red Ford Focus and a grey Kia crossover have sustained damage in the smash, but no one is thought to have been seriously injured.
Motorists are being diverted via Harding Shute in both directions.
UPDATE @ 09:02 – 1 female casualty is being checked over by paramedics after self-extricating from 1 of the vehicles.
Fire crews are now standing down from the incident but the road remains closed whilst recovery takes place.
UPDATE @ 09:58 – The vehicles have now been recovered by Bartletts Service Station. The road has re-opened.
